Kendra Sievers, LCSW

You may look like you’re holding everything together on the outside while internally feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break.

Maybe you constantly overthink, struggle to fully relax, feel responsible for everyone else, or notice old wounds showing up in your relationships and self-worth. Even when things appear manageable on the outside, things internally may feel heavy, disconnected, or difficult to navigate alone.

Therapy should feel like a space where you can exhale.

Therapy can be a space where you no longer have to carry all of that by yourself.

I’m Kendra Sievers, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy for adults, teens, and families in Virginia, DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and genuine. I believe meaningful healing happens when clients feel emotionally safe, understood, and supported while also being gently challenged to grow.

I work to create a space where clients can better understand themselves, process what they’ve been carrying, recognize unhelpful patterns, and begin creating meaningful, lasting change.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs and goals. Clients often tell me they appreciate that therapy with me feels wam, grounding, and authentic. A space where they can be fully themselves without fear of judgment.

I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University with a concentration in Advanced Clinical Practice.

I have experience providing therapy across a variety of outpatient and trauma-focused settings and work with children, teens, adults, and families navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges.

My work draws from evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, attachment-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, family systems work, and play-based interventions when developmentally appropriate.

I provide both in-person therapy in Old Town Alexandria and virtual therapy sessions through a secure HIPAA-compliant platform.

Education & Professional Background

Clients I Often Work With:

Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, self-aware individuals who have spent a long time carrying more than people around them realize.

They may struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, overthinking, people-pleasing, burnout, relationship challenges, unresolved trauma, or difficulty slowing down and feeling emotionally safe.

Others come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or exhausted from constantly trying to meet everyone else’s needs while ignoring their own.

I also work with teens and families navigating emotional, behavioral, relational, and communication challenges.

Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you are used to handling things on your own. Whether you are navigating a difficult season, hoping to better understand long-standing patterns, or looking for deeper healing and growth, therapy can be a meaningful place to begin.

I would be honored to support you in that process.
